While looking for a car, I came across ideal car centre they had the car that I wanted well within my budget. It had low miles, full service history and was in lovely condition. All the staff were helpful and I have had no problems.

Adequate service but could be better

By Khadiza on 10 November 2023 | Purchase not verified

I bought a car on finance for the first time from this dealership. I pointed this out and would have liked them to have explained what that entails in depth as I am not knowledgable about how it works. Instead we went through the process of signing papers very quickly. I feel it is the dealer’s duty to explain every nook and cranny about the finance company you are about to sign up to and even briefly explain the monthly costs and the total cost overall, including interest, how the binding contract works, etc. The first dealer I spoke to was not very knowledgable about a lot of things which then became a problem later down the line. In the showroom, it looked like the car windows were tinted but it was in fact how it was manufactured and the person who showed me round the car mentioned that these tints could be peeled off which wasn’t the case at all. I could’ve sworn I saw a lid/cover in the boot of the car at the time of viewing as it was the first thing I checked when viewing the car. I then noticed that this was missing and buying a car of that price, I expected it to find everything in order and in its right place. It is the dealer’s responsibility to check and make sure nothing is missing in a car, especially things like the lid of a boot before putting it up for sale or this should have been pointed out to me when I was looking round the car. Unfortunately, I am now having to buy a boot cover/lid myself. However, once I had Andy help me with the process, things went a little bit more smoothly. I found Andy to be quite accommodating and patient and dealt with my queries in a professional manner, so things were a bit more positive towards the end of the buying process. He clarified a few things for me, so I felt a bit more positive about buying the car.

Worst company ive ever bought a car off.

By Craig on 10 November 2023 | Purchase not verified

when I was looking round the car at ideal car centre it was noted that it needed 2 new front tyres as they were bald and it also required a service as indicated on the dashboard, I was told I could choose what I wanted the service or the tyres as there wasn't enough money in the car to do both ! I chose tyres and they wonderfully put 2 worn different type of tyres on, At one point I thought I was on a game show .

    Mercedes disaster

By Anonymous on 10 November 2023 | Purchase not verified

Bought a mercedes from Ideal Car Centre very recently. Been nothing but problems bills for repairs in the thousands. All provable verifiable faults. Car pulled to the left was fixed and tracking done steering wheel still of center then pouring oil they claimed from oil cap. Saud they would send me new one never did. Oil was actually from rocker covers. Big job. Then the suspension was broken had to be replaced at the back. Also the warranty supplied pays out max of 500 pound per job and very little is covered on it and could only find 1 garage nearby that would take it and that happens to be the garage that does work for ideal cars called every auto. Had car about 3 months been in repair over 8 weeks. One thing after another. No courtesy car offered no compensation made it very difficult to even talk about returning the car. Only really has 30 days warranty from ideal cars rest is on this warranty company. Had a truly terrible experience. Im being honest here and stating the facts judge for yourself but id be very very wary of using them again in fact i wouldnt.

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your car but we are somewhat shocked and disappointed by your review as we have gone out of our way to help you. The suspension was inspected at your request and there were no faults found with it. There was also no fault with the rocker cover, a very slight oil leak which we fixed for you at no cost to you. It was not a big job at all, it was very minor. During this time despite you ringing us constantly every day or two, we have acted courteously and professionally and helped you at every opportunity. We have not heard from you since so I am not sure what you other concerns could possibly be. We did not offer compensation as your 'faults' were fixed at no cost to you so I am not sure exactly what compensation you would require. You were aware at purchase of the warranty claim limit of £500 per claim - a warranty we supply FREE - and you declined to upgrade to a 12 month warranty for £150 with a claim limit of £1,000. You have had the car almost 5 months and the car has probably spent 1 week maximum being repaired, at your request for items which were not faulty but we repaired as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately you bought a 10 year old car done almost 100,000 miles and expected it to be like a brand new one.
